Digital Footprint/ Digital Citizenship
A digital footprint is the trail left behind when you do something. Sorta like on shows where people don't know where they are going so they leave bread crumbs or corn or something. This is different it is on a computer so the footprints last a long time. When you do something the computer system has the digital "crumbs." It may include posting, buying, selling, or interacting on the internet.
Digital citizenship is is doing the right thing on computers, ipods, phones, ect. Being positive, creative, responsible, respectful, and kind to others. Acting appropriately is a big one you should not post naughty things on line. Being careful with what your getting into.
Positive ideas for being a good digital citizen may be posting uplifting things to people not things that will make them feel bad. Also being respectful to others maybe put videos of all your friends. If you had a great "appropriate" party you could show the pictures by emailing it to them. Send emails and messages to friends who aren't feeling good. It will brighten their day!
Being a bad digital citizen might say inappropriate post, post bad pictures, or gossiping and telling lies about people. This person wouldn't care if they hurt a network or another person. Being a bad digital citizen and doing bad things get you into trouble. All the trouble you get into has a consequence!
Assignment: DigiTeen Introduction
After reading some introductions from other students in the project:
1. Look at the rubric so that you will know how the introduction will be graded (advanced is worth the most points, beginning is worth the least points).
2. Write 5 - 10 (or more) sentences to introduce yourself.
3. Pay particular attention to correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation - this is SCHOOL WRITING, not TEXT writing.
My name is Maggie D I will be 13 on Oct. 2. I'm in 7th grade and I like all of my teachers. I love to play basketball with my friends and I also do dance. I have 3 pets a white horse named Sugar, a white dog named Snowball, and a calico cat named Hollywood. I used to live in Palatine, Illinois but when I was five we moved to Anamosa, Iowa. I kind of miss the busy life but it is nice to live in the country now. (Big Change!) My dad lives in Montana in Glacier National Park! My favorite color is lime green and my favorite animal is a monkey! :)
